Keith Steele Looks Forward to a Monster Year in the World
Series
Madison, WI (May 2, 2008) - In 2008, Keith Steele looks to
improve upon his rookie season in the Super Truck division, of
the World Series of Off-Road Racing. The two-time Stock Truck
champion, made the move to the big trucks last year, and found
the podium his first time out. In fact, the Monster Energy
Goodyear Tire Chevrolet Super Truck made it onto the podium
six times, including three wins, in 2007.
“We started with a whole new program, last year,” comments
team owner and driver, Keith Steele. “The Super Truck is
obviously much faster and more complex than the Stock Truck.
Along with the move up in class, we had to step up our
marketing program and all of this takes time. By the time the
truck was completed and contracts were signed, we missed the
first two rounds of racing. This really put us behind in the
championship standings. The competition at this level is
incredible. Racing along side perennial champions like Baudoux
and Wandasega, was truly an honor. This year we are positioned
to be a contender for the championship.”
Even after missing the first two rounds of racing, Steele
finished fifth in the 2007 WSORR Super Truck Championship
standings.
The 2008 season continues for Steele with Monster Energy, as
the team’s title sponsor, as well as, support from Goodyear
Tires, J & H Transmission, Wolverine Performance, Yank
Converters, King Shocks, Autoforms Racing Panels, USG
Sheetrock, and Cash Coatings.
“It’s a great confidence boost when all your partners from the
previous year stay with you into the next season,” states team
manager, Izzy Steele. “Every name on the side of the truck
plays an important role in the success of Steele Off-Road
Racing. We are honored to be representing all our partners.
The podium finishes during the second half of the 2007 WSORR
season, makes Keith Steele one of the drivers to watch in
2008.
The first round of Lucas Oil World Series competition for the
#229 Monster Energy Goodyear Tire Chevrolet Silverado is May
31, at the Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri.
Keith Steele would like to thank all its supporters,
including:
Monster Energy,
Goodyear Tires,
Autoforms Racing Panels,
USG Sheetrock,
Cash Coatings,
Precision Gear,
Wolverine Performance,
J & H Transmission,
Yank Torque Converters,
