Steele Has Solid Run @ Crandon - Looks Toward 2014 Season

Madison, WI (September 9, 2013) - Keith Steele concluded his race season with a solid finish at the Labor Day weekend event in Crandon, Wisconsin. The veteran PRO-2WD competitor was able to compete in six rounds of the Traxxas TORC Series presented by AMSOIL thanks to the team's sponsor and its all volunteer crew. The team competed in the three largest race events in the series and continues to outperform many of the larger teams in the series.

The Labor Day weekend extravaganza known as the Crandon Off-Road World Championships is the home to short-course off-road racing. The Labor Day Weekend event has the largest spectator turnout, (nearly 40,000), the largest competitor turnout, media coverage is second to none, and more representatives from companies interested in short-course off-road racing attend the three day racing festival.

Keith Steele comes to Crandon to race with the best PRO-2WD racers there are on the planet. The 2013 edition was no exception. The PRO-2WD field had twenty-two drivers line up to take the green flag. The iconic 1.5 mile long short-course off-road superspeedway is famous for its land rush starts and its incredible high speeds.

Saturday's nine lap race was an up and down day for the #29 PRO-2WD Chevy. Steele at one point in the race was running as high as eighth place when something in the truck seemed a miss after a hard pass through the Argonne Corner, a particularly rough section of the course. The truck coasted off the track, but a few moments later Steele had the black Chevy back in the hunt, but now much further down in the runner order. At the finish, Keith Steele finished in fourteenth place.

Overnight the race truck was inspected and prepped for Sunday's early afternoon race.

Sunday saw a much better result for Steele, the huge crowd at Crandon saw some incredible racing. The action was non-stop throughout the field. After starting well back at the land rush start, the #29 Chevy finished a very respectable seventh place

"The biggest weekend of the year for our team is Fall Crandon," commented Keith Steele. "Every race for that matter is important of course, but Labor Day Weekend is special not only as a racer, but for our marketing partners. When people call this the "Big House" it's almost an understatement. The place is an incredible place to race, but the crowd, the people, the racers, the media coverage, is a sponsor's dream. Our objective is to run well and maximize our exposure for our sponsors, and I believe not only this past weekend, but at every event our team maximizes that experience."

Keith Steele reflected on the team's 2013 performance and commented:

"This year we saw the PRO-2WD field grow. We definitely more than held our own. The one race I wish we could have had back was Saturday night at Chicagoland. The night before we finished sixth, this put us on the pole for Saturday's race. That night the huge grandstand was packed, the race was live on SPEED, and almost immediately after the start the power steering failed, ending our night. I know with that great starting position we had a real shot at a podium finish that night, but like everyone knows, that's all a part of racing. I'm extremely proud of our team and we are already working on our marketing package for 2014. With a slightly larger budget who knows what our team can do."
